These sheets were excellent. I particularly liked the fact that there was copying as well as free-writing, and that he scored his own writing, avoiding any conflict with parents! He can’t argue with his own scores, and they are short enough that doing every day is not too much of a chore! (Phil, Dad of James, age 11)
I know how frustrating it is to see your child’s handwriting deteriorate as they try to meet the increasing demands of a packed school curriculum
Many parents want their children to do daily paragraph writing exercises. But struggle in knowing what to ask their child to do. Repeatedly writing the alphabet gets boring very quickly.
That is why we created ‘Find the Lies, Write the News’. A handwriting activity where your child has to write out a news article and guess whether it is real or fake news. And then review their own writing to make fast progress.

At Help with Handwriting, we understand that you want to give your child the best opportunities to help them blossom in the transition process from primary to secondary school life.
We know you want to stay being Mum and Dad, guiding them through any difficult times and giving them a little extra head start with their school work. Especially in Years 6 & 7 when both the workload and expectations increase. However, we also know that you need a little guidance on the best way to do that too.
Daily writing practices are the fastest way to improve handwriting. And to make long-lasting changes to writing. Yet many parents do not know how to do this without it becoming boring. Or worse, a reluctant writer becomes stroppy and argumentative when you suggest them doing extra writing practice.
We understand this.
The problem is that daily writing practice has been approached wrongly for years.
In the past, it has been about boring repetition. Endlessly copying words that have no meaning or purpose. This would be the quickest way we would be put off from writing too.
That’s why we created the ‘Find the Lies, Write the News’. Yes, your child will copy the text. It’s impossible to get away from that. But after writing the headline and short paragraph, they have to guess if the story is true or a lie. The stories that we have collected have amazed us and kept us entertained.
There are 42 days' worth of activities. That is 6 weeks' worth or if you look at it another way it's a whole half term's worth of handwriting practice.
And because no one likes being told what to do. We added a review section at the bottom of every page. A simple 8 point handwriting checklist will help guide them to pick out specific areas they can improve on. Lastly, they pick one ‘thing’ to improve on. Simple.
It is the best way for your child to make progress. They are the ones taking ownership of their handwriting and making change happen.
Get your copy today, so your child doesn’t get put in the bottom set because of their handwriting. Start seeing the magnificent changes daily writing practices can make.
