Hello All Teaching Staff,
Probably like me, you hear a lot about standards and making sure that the children we see achieve both academically and socially. However, who is looking after you and your needs?
Working in a classroom with 30 children all functioning at different levels is no easy job. The demands placed on upon both them and you to achieve seem to be increasing.
Here at 'Help with Handwriting' you will find the answers and advice that you are looking for. No matter what level of knowledge you have on handwriting, I know that I will be able to give you a wealth of strategies. Whether it is looking for worksheets to help engage the child who finds the cursive writing difficult or whole classroom ideas, the information is here for you.
Being good at handwriting is more than just looking at how a child holds their pencil
It combines knowledge of childhood development, hand development, sitting posture, visual perceptual skills, and handwriting. How children play has changed. Technology is changing how ready they are to write resulting in essential hand skills developing later than before.
In schools today there is an increase of poor pencil grips, children pressing heavily when writing and reduced letter legibility.
These are everyday problems that can be easily solved
Here is what I can offer you and your school:
If you are looking for a child or children to have regular handwriting practice, development of fine and gross motor skills help at school then I can help with that too. I work with both children who have and do not have an EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan). For more details email me.
