We'll help take your child from a Confused Writer to a Cursive Writer

1. Confused Writer

Who is uncertain about how and where to join letters together.

2. Enlightened Writer

Who has a clearer understanding.

3. Careful Writer

Who finds joining up letters easier.

4. Cursive Writer

Whose letters are joined together with ease and fluidity.

An easy process for mastering cursive writing

Being good at cursive or joined-up writing takes practice. That is when it can become boring. I wanted to banish this boredom and I noticed that the children I saw loved tongue twisters. So I combined the two. Your child is asked to write some tongue twisters. They should use joined-up or cursive writing, based on their style.ย

The great thing about tongue twisters is they often repeat the same letter. This helps a child master their letter joins even quicker.ย

Is your child ready to tangle their tongue and flow their pen with our twisters?

You can do these worksheets in order, or focus on specific letters.

There are 4 tongue twisters to write per sheet. For the first two, ask your child to write on the lines. The third tests their writing further by writing in a plain box. Lastly, they should write their own tongue twister.

There is no set timescale to complete them. You can repeat each worksheet for more practice.ย

Frequently asked questions

Our workbook has four writing activities for each letter of the alphabet. It provides focused practice for each letter. It builds their cursive skills, step by step.ย

Yes! Tongue twisters are great for cursive practice. They require repeating similar letter combinations. This repetition helps with letter joins and flow. It makes the shift to cursive writing smoother and more natural.

The workbook breaks down practice into manageable chunks – one letter at a time. Children can see their progress as they complete each letter’s activities. It provides frequent small wins. This boosts confidence and motivation.

Absolutely! After copying three tongue twisters, children get to create their own using the featured letter. We’ve had some children prefer to think of this as them creating a rap. This makes practice fun and engaging.ย

The workbook is for independent use. It has clear instructions for each activity. As children progress through the alphabet, they gain confidence. So, they need less constant guidance.

There is no formal tracking. Your child can review the completed worksheets. They can compare them to the ones from before. They can complete the sheets in any order; they do not need to be alphabetical.
