Sheilagh Blyth (Handwriting expert, OT, founder of Help with Handwriting and punlished autor of two handwriting books)

Wouldn't it be great to take your handwriting know-how to the next level?

I get it. Training with an occupational therapist is different. But that is the beauty as well. As a handwriting expert and occupational therapist, I have a unique view on teaching it. My OT training looked at fine motor skills, developmental theory and visual perceptual skills. These are the key skills to good letter formation and faster writing.

I used to work in a school, so I do understand your unique needs. Unlike other OT advice, my approach is for real classrooms. For example, I’ll never suggest using foam on classroom tables to draw letters. I’ll share the latest research. Then, I’ll show you practical strategies that work in your school. This isn’t about telling you how to teach. It’s about sparking ideas and starting talks on how it can be improved.

Whether you work in Reception to Year 11, you’ll find new ideas. They’ll change how you teach handwriting. Ready for those lightbulb moments? Let’s revolutionise handwriting instruction in your school.

How do we get started?

1. Book a discovery call (optional)

Most schools when looking for INSET training usually book a discovery call to speak directly to Sheilagh. You can use this this to book it here.

Here you will be taken to the booking calendar where you can see available time slots. Most schools book 2 terms ahead for INSET training. Our Twilight training is online and is offered per person. If you want a Twilight training session for your school, mention it in the discovery call.

For in-person events, all the resources will be given to you on the day. For Twilight training, our training pack will be posted to you. You will need this pack during the training.

Post both events, you can email Sheilagh up to 7 days after the event to ask any follow up questions.
